Plot Summary

Long before empires rose and fell, the deserts of Akkad were ruled by blood and betrayal. Mathayus, a skilled assassin from the Black Sands, watches his people fall to the tyrannical rule of the dark sorcerer Nebu-Ra, who harnesses forbidden magic to bend armies to his will.

Haunted by vengeance and guided by fate, Mathayus sets out across scorching deserts, cursed ruins, and blood-soaked arenas to forge an unlikely alliance: a rebel princess, a disgraced scholar, and a beast-tamer. Together, they must stop Nebu-Ra from awakening Anubis’s army and plunging the world into eternal darkness.
