🧵 A Quilt of Love Across Generations

👴 At 89, my grandfather often drifts back to his youth, sharing memories of a time when he was teased for quilting — a skill many dismissed as “women’s work.” Yet, he never stopped. With steady hands and quiet patience, he turned scraps of fabric into art, finding peace and purpose in every stitch.

🎄 This Christmas, I wanted to honor that part of him. I carefully chose fabrics in the colors of his old flannel shirts — the ones softened by years of work, love, and living. When I placed the quilt in his lap, his eyes sparkled, and a tender smile spread across his face.

💬 He ran his fingers over the stitches, paused, and with a voice full of warmth, whispered: “Next time, I’ll help you.”

🌟 In that moment, it was more than a gift. It was a bridge between generations, a promise that the threads of his past and my present would continue weaving together. A simple quilt became a legacy — stitched with love, resilience, and the beauty of shared moments. ❤️
