🌱 Love Looks Like This
👨👦 When I asked my 11-year-old son to help unload a truckload of dirt for my wife’s garden, he groaned, rolled his eyes, and shuffled outside like I’d asked him to climb a mountain. Hoodie up. Shoulders slumped. Every step, reluctant.
❓ “Why do we have to do this?” he muttered.
My reply was simple: “When you love someone, you serve them.”
💪 He didn’t like that answer. But he picked up the shovel anyway. Together, we worked until the dirt was moved.
🌸 The next day, without a word from me, he went out again. This time not for me — but for his mom. Quiet. Intentional. No groans. Just small hands on a big shovel, moving dirt for the woman he loves most.
💖 When she asked him why, his answer was soft but steady: “Because I love you.”
🌟 And in that moment, I understood: love isn’t always grand gestures or perfect words. Sometimes it’s sweaty brows, dirt under fingernails, and a boy learning that real love is showing up — even when you’d rather not.
